Every claim here has a test behind it.

Report 2024(X)07065, issued against the national standard for cast industrial acrylic sheet by a laboratory accredited under the ILAC mutual recognition arrangement. Twelve properties measured. Where a figure is not in that report, it is not on this page.

Cast, not extruded
01
Cast, not extruded

Polymerised between glass rather than pushed through a die, and tested against the cast-sheet standard rather than the general one. Cast panels carry almost no internal stress — no fine white crazing after a year on a warm shelf.

94.6% light through
02
94.6% light through

Total luminous transmittance, measured. The standard asks for 91 and most clear acrylic lands near 92 — about four per cent is lost to surface reflection no matter what, so the room to be better than average is narrow. This sits at the top of it.

Thickness follows span
03
Thickness follows span

Three millimetres on the small cases, four in the middle, five on the largest. A panel bows more the further it has to reach, so one thickness across a range either wastes material at the bottom or gives at the top.

Stays clear
04
Stays clear

Acrylic does not yellow with age — the cheap display boxes that do are polystyrene, which breaks down under light within months. Softening point measured at 109°C, so a sunlit shelf is nowhere near enough to move it.

05
Tested, not asserted

Panels go to an independent laboratory accredited under the ILAC mutual recognition arrangement, whose results are accepted across roughly a hundred economies. Tensile strength came back at 73.8 MPa against a 70 requirement, impact at 19 kJ/m² against 17.

Seven properties, seven passes.

Report 2024(X)07065

The bar marks what the standard asks for. Everything to the right of it is what the sheet actually did. Five more properties were recorded without a threshold to meet.

Tested against GB/T 7134 for cast industrial acrylic sheet, at a laboratory accredited under the ILAC mutual recognition arrangement — its results are accepted across roughly a hundred economies, this one included.

Why the sheet gets thicker as the case grows.

A panel bows under its own weight, and the bow grows far faster than the span does — double the reach and it sags roughly sixteen times as much. One thickness across a whole range either wastes material on the small cases or gives way on the large ones.

Before you buy

The things people actually ask.

What if it arrives scratched or broken?

+

We replace it, and it costs you nothing. Send a photo within 30 days of delivery and a new case ships — no return shipping, no fee, and you do not need to send the damaged one back. Acrylic travels with protective film on both faces and we open every case here before it goes out, but panels get handled and film gets pulled. When it happens it is our problem to fix, not yours to live with.

What if I just change my mind?

+

Thirty days from delivery, and the return is free — tell us and we send a prepaid label, then refund the full price with no restocking fee and no deduction for shipping either way. You do not have to tell us why. Building it does not cost you the return either: these ship flat-packed and are meant to be assembled, so we only ask that the panels come back unmarked and packed well enough to survive the trip.

Will it scratch in normal use?

+

Acrylic is softer than glass, so yes, it can — the same trade that makes it clearer and far less likely to shatter. Dust it with a microfibre cloth rather than paper towel, and skip ammonia cleaners: glass cleaner is the usual culprit behind a hazed case.

Will it yellow over the years?

+

No. Acrylic is UV-stable by nature — the display boxes that go yellow within months are polystyrene, a cheaper plastic that breaks down under light. Ours is cast acrylic, measured at 94.6% light transmittance and a 109°C softening point, so a sunlit shelf is nowhere near enough to change it.

Is the case UV-protective for the set inside?

+

Partly, and we would rather be exact about it: plain acrylic blocks most UVB but only around a third of UVA, so it slows sun-fading rather than stopping it. If a set is going somewhere with hours of direct afternoon sun, no case of any material saves it — move the shelf.

Cast or extruded acrylic?

+

Cast. It is polymerised between glass rather than pushed through a die, which costs more per sheet and is why the panels carry almost no internal stress — the fine white crazing that shows up on cheaper cases after a year on a warm shelf. Our sheet is tested against GB/T 7134, the standard written for cast sheet.
